OUR STORY

Years ago, when I studied abroad in France, I thought I was ready for the trip and the adventure. I very soon realized that I wasn’t. Prior to going, I had had 4 semesters of college level French following a few years of High school French. When I decided to go study in France, I thought communication was going to be the least of my worries since I was getting really good grades in French and I loved learning the language. It turned out that although my reading, writing, and grammar were very good, my conversational abilities were down the drain. It would take me forever to form a correct sentence or to even search for the appropriate terms in my vocabulary bank. It took me 2-3 months to have a flowing conversation with a local French speaker. However, when it finally happened, I was out of this world. It was such a great feeling.

This experience made me realize that no matter how much time we spend learning a language the conventional way, which is through reading and writing and minimal speaking, we will not be able to verbally communicate in it unless we immerse ourselves in it through conversation.
This is why we offer language workshops and not just language courses. In these workshops, you, the learner, do most of the talking and interacting with your peers. Your trainer will act as a guide and direct you in the process. You will see improvements and as long as you keep using English as much as possible, you will notice the changes.

Don’t worry about sounding perfect, so don’t overthink. First, speak using what you know. Your trainer is there to guide you and facilitate grammar, vocabulary, structure, tone, etc… and you will quickly learn from your peers as well.
You will get more confident with time and the way you communicate will evolve. Just remember your goal(s) - why you want to learn English (or any language). Is it to communicate better with family and or friends? Is it for your studies? For your work or career? Is it to communicate while doing daily tasks (grocery store, bank, hospital/clinic, the gym, etc…)? Is it to travel/immigrate? It could be for other reasons as well. Whatever reason you may have, it must feel right for you; and if it feels right, then register now.
